Marilyn is an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and is certified in Pet CPR and First Aid. Her involvement with dogs began young with her own American Eskimo, and that early relationship sparked a passion that turned into a career built around helping owners and their dogs. Before launching her own business she spent years training under respected mentors, and the range she covered in that period is notable. Her experience runs from basic pet obedience through behavioural rehabilitation and into competitive dog sports, which are three quite different disciplines that demand different skills. On top of that, she worked for three years as a certified explosives detection K9 handler in the private sector. Detection handling at that level requires precision, absolute reliability and the ability to read a dog with real accuracy, and it expanded her technical understanding considerably. Owners get a trainer whose formal qualifications, mentored development and operational handling experience all reinforce one another.

Marilyn's passion has become her profession, and she is committed to helping owners reach their training goals so they can enjoy a genuinely more fulfilling life with their dogs. She speaks with real gratitude about the opportunities that shaped her career, particularly the mentors she trained under, and that appreciation shows in how she works with clients. A trainer who was taught carefully tends to teach carefully. She looks forward to continuing to make a positive difference for both dogs and the people who love them, and her breadth across obedience, rehabilitation, competitive sport and professional detection work means she brings an unusually wide toolkit to whatever a family presents her with. For owners in San Jose looking for someone whose credentials are verifiable and whose experience is genuinely varied, Marilyn is a strong choice.
