Our History
Dogwise Academy was built on a simple but powerful belief: dog training should be transparent, ethical, relationship-focused — and grounded in real results. Founded by Sean Devereux, Dogwise grew from a personal mission to not only train dogs, but to educate and empower the people who care for them. From humble beginnings working one-on-one with owners and their dogs, we’ve grown into a nationwide network of passionate trainers, behaviorists, and canine experts — all committed to one shared goal: helping dogs and their humans live better lives together. But Dogwise Academy is more than a training company. We're a support system. A team that shows up. We believe in accountability, communication, and follow-through. We don't sugarcoat the work that goes into dog training — we meet people where they are and guide them forward with honesty, structure, and compassion. Over the years, we’ve helped thousands of dogs across the country — from first-time puppy parents to families navigating serious behavioral challenges. We’ve stood by our clients through the hard moments and celebrated every breakthrough along the way. Dogwise was never meant to be just another dog training business. Teamwork makes the dream work. Training is a partnership—between you, your dog, and us! We start with lessons at the trainer’s home but don’t stop there. You’ll get follow-up tips, virtual guides, and lifelong support to keep progress going strong.
