Karen

Karen has been working with dogs for five years, and her training philosophy has been shaped in large part by the two dogs she has trained herself from the ground up. Kylo Ren is a five year old rescue of famously mixed heritage, eighteen breeds by DNA, and it was the work of helping him that turned Karen's interest into a profession. Together they have set and met a long series of training goals, and Kylo has since found his sport in urban locating, where he has earned his Level II title and is working toward Level III.

Karen's recent certifications span CPR, canine nutrition and AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluation, and she has no intention of stopping there. Her stated goal is to keep learning across every aspect of dog training so that she can teach clients to do more than run through commands. What she is really selling is a lifestyle, one built on enrichment, clear communication, good health, proper outlets for the dog's energy, and a relationship that lasts the animal's lifetime. When Rae is not working, she competes in dock diving and flyball and is devoted to her ball. Karen's own passion for her dogs' wellbeing is what drove her to learn everything she could about canines, and it is the same energy she brings to client work. She is genuinely enthusiastic about helping owners set ambitious goals and then go and meet them.
