Professional experience
Florence is a bilingual trainer based in Katy, Texas, and the co-founder of a mother and daughter K9 training academy that she launched alongside her own daughter more than three years ago. That detail tells you something useful about how she works, because building a business with family requires the same patience and clear communication she brings to a training program. She has over seven years of hands on experience, including a formal internship, and she holds certification as an AKC evaluator for the S.T.A.R. Puppy program, for Canine Good Citizen, and for therapy dog work. Her mission is straightforward, which is structured, effective, relationship focused training that helps both the dog and the owner succeed rather than only the dog. Her approach rests on three things she treats as inseparable, which are clarity, consistency and communication, and every program is tailored to the specific dog and handler team in front of her. For Spanish speaking families in the Katy area, Florence offers something genuinely uncommon, which is a fully certified trainer who can deliver the entire program, including all of the owner coaching, in their own language.
A little bit about me
Away from client work Florence is deeply involved in competitive dog sports, and her record there is exceptional. Her Dogue de Bordeaux currently holds the number one national ranking in AKC Fast CAT, which is a serious achievement in a demanding sport and with a breed not usually associated with speed. She also handles a certified therapy dog who visits hospitals and nursing homes regularly, bringing comfort and companionship to people who need it. That combination is what she loves most about this field, the high level performance work at one end and the gentle, people focused work at the other. Florence and her academy are committed to meaningful progress for every client, whether the goal is basic obedience, preparation for therapy dog certification, or advanced canine performance. Services are available in both English and Spanish.
