Professional experience
Alex has been drawn to animals of every kind for as long as he can remember, and his understanding of dogs was shaped early by growing up with a spirited Jack Russell terrier. That relationship gave him a genuine appreciation for high energy dogs and for everything they are capable of when someone knows how to channel them properly, which is a useful grounding for the owners who arrive convinced their dog is simply too much. Later he began taking in senior rescues, working to keep them active and comfortable through their final years, and it was that work which pushed him to go further with training. He was clear that he did not want to be limited to walks and games of fetch. He wanted to understand training properly, from the ground up, so he went to work for a local dog trainer and learned how to take a dog through a complete program from the first session to the finished result. That apprenticeship is the foundation everything else rests on.
A little bit about me
The hands on experience is where it came together for Alex. What he enjoys most is the problem solving side of the work, which means figuring out what makes a particular dog tick and then building a plan that genuinely fits that animal rather than pushing every dog through the same routine regardless of temperament. That distinction matters to owners who have already tried a one size fits all approach and found their dog did not respond. He describes the best part of the job as watching a dog grow into its full potential and then handing an owner back the calm, confident companion they were hoping for when they first made contact. Alex is continually learning and continually adding to his toolkit, and he brings that same patience and curiosity to every dog he takes on.
