Tressie began training the moment she left high school, which puts sixteen years of professional experience behind her. She earned her initial certification through PetSmart and ran their group classes and private lessons before deciding to establish her own training company, where she offered group classes, private lessons and board and train programs. That progression from employee to business owner matters, because it meant taking full responsibility for results with no organisation standing behind her. Her expertise widened over time from basic and advanced obedience into behaviour modification, and her commitment to continued learning led to a role as head trainer for a doodle breeder, where she focused on puppy training and on training other trainers. Her qualifications include being a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, serving as training director for a local Protection Sport Association club, and competing at national level in that sport. Tressie is well versed across all breeds and every facet of training, covering puppy development, behaviour modification and obedience from foundation through to advanced.

Choosing dog training as a career was a natural fit for Tressie given how deep her love of dogs runs. She initially pursued a degree in Animal Science at college, but her growing passion for training pulled her toward a long term commitment to the profession instead, and she has never looked back from that decision. Looking ahead, she sees herself continuing to work with clients and their dogs, which is the part of the job she has always found most rewarding. She also takes considerable satisfaction in passing on what she knows to aspiring trainers, and coaching is an avenue she would like to explore further. That instinct to teach is worth noting for owners. A trainer who enjoys developing other trainers tends to be unusually good at explaining things clearly, and Tressie brings that same clarity to the families she works with.
