Professional experience
Cal is a United States Army veteran from New Jersey whose route into dog training began at home. His father always had a dog, and that constant presence through childhood established an affinity that never left him. After completing his military service, Cal brought home his first dog of his own, an American Bully named Suge, and that relationship marked the real beginning of his interest in training. Over time he expanded his household and built his own pack, which gave him something many trainers lack, which is daily experience of managing multiple dogs with different needs and personalities under one roof. His expertise sits in foundational obedience and in shaping behaviour, the groundwork that determines whether everything else a dog learns will hold. Cal's service background brings a particular discipline to his work, an understanding of structure, consistency and follow through that translates directly into training. Owners get a trainer who takes commitment seriously and who has built his skills through sustained hands on work rather than theory alone.
A little bit about me
Cal takes real satisfaction in the community side of his work and in the outdoors, and both show up in how he trains. Watching a dog reach its full potential is the part of the job he describes as bringing him the most joy, and he finds equal satisfaction in guiding owners through that process so they can see the change happening in their own hands. He approaches new learning eagerly and is always looking to expand his knowledge and sharpen his skills, which matters in a field where methods continue to develop. For owners, that means a trainer who is neither complacent nor fixed in his thinking. Cal brings the discipline of his service background together with genuine enthusiasm for the work, and the result is training delivered with structure and warmth in equal measure.
